Thank you for considering Read Watch Reviews for your book or movie review request. We appreciate your interest in our blog and value the opportunity to share our thoughts on your creative work. Please take a moment to review our guidelines before submitting a review request.

Review Criteria

We review a wide range of books and movies, including but not limited to fiction, dramas, thrillers, and more. Our focus is on providing insightful, honest, and balanced reviews that engage our readers.

We have a wide range of reading/watching preferences, therefore, here is a list of genres we cannot review:

  • Non-Fiction (including memoirs/biography)
  • Political
  • Religious 
  • Sport
  • Documentaries 

Submission Process

To submit a review request, please send an Email with the subject line "Review Request - [Book/Movie Title]." 

Introduce yourself, state your purpose of writing, and include a brief synopsis of the work, relevant details (such as genre and release date), and any links or attachments necessary for us to evaluate your request.

Also, answer whether you are comfortable with us including spoilers in our review. If you aren't, we will not.

Include necessary social media links for verification and identification, and let us know how we should get back to you (either to reply the email or other contact methods)

We typically reply to all contacts within 24 hours.


Acceptance Considerations

While we make an effort to consider all review requests, please understand that acceptance is not guaranteed. We prioritize works that align with our blog's themes and genres so if your request is in line with our work, you will be accepted. If your request is accepted, we will provide an estimated timeframe for the review to be published.

We can review self-published titles, upcoming authors/directors, and beginners. We aim to showcase stories that we enjoy and share with our readers. We support everyone with similar interests as ours.

We can accept ebooks to review but will require a hard copy of your book for collection (hope you understand). Please note we are located in Nigeria when considering postage costs. 

Note that depending on certain situations, we are willing to review your book in soft copy only.


Review Content

Our reviews are thorough and provide insights into various aspects of the book or movie, including plot, characters, themes, writing style, pacing, and overall impressions. We aim to provide constructive feedback while remaining respectful and considerate.


Review Disclosure

We are committed to transparency and ethical reviewing. Our reviews will always reflect our genuine opinions, regardless of whether the book or movie was provided to us for review. We will disclose in each review if the work was received from the author, publisher, or any third party.

We use a rating system of [1-5 stars] to reflect our overall assessment of the book or movie. 

Stars - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to indicate 5 stars.

 Our ratings are based on various factors, including quality, entertainment value, and audience appeal.


Review Publication

After your book/movie has been accepted for review, your review should be completed within a week but this depends mostly on your work's entertainment level and how tight our schedule is. Every necessary information will be communicated to you upon acceptance.  

Upon completion of the review, we will notify you of its publication on Read Watch Reviews. The review will be shared on our blog, social media platforms, and any relevant platforms or communities.


Additional Promotions

In addition to the review, we may include the book or movie in relevant blog posts, such as lists, recommendations, or thematic discussions, to further promote your work. We also occasionally participate in author/director Q&A for additional promotion and blog content.

We also reserve the right to contact you in the future for further collaboration opportunities.
