For the past few months of my life, I have been in a poor place. Over the past year, my previously built self-confidence and self-esteem collapsed, and having others constantly call me fat isn't exactly helpful. I didn't want people to label me overweight and unattractive.

I made the decision to start reading self-help books since they had previously aided me in developing a sense of self-worth and self-confidence as a young person. I picked up the book again and tried to locate myself. The self-help book I decided to read was A Gentle Reminder by Bianca Sparacino.

A Gentle Reminder has been a wonderful starting point as it has helped me realise that it's okay to let go of people who really don't fit your life any longer. That it's acceptable to not be fully aware of who you are at this moment since you are simply evolving, and you should welcome this because it means that you are improving as an individual.

A favourite quote of mine is, "I hope you learn how to let go of everyone’s opinion of your life. I hope you start to see, from a place that lives deep within you, that there is no universally correct way to live a life that is solely your own."

Bianca composed this in the style of a brief poem that has her speaking directly to you and addressing what your mind already thinks, she just says it out loud. She is urging us to remember that we deserve the love we give and that we must discover that love inside ourselves.

You'll not always remember the exact storyline of your favourite books but you'll forever remember how it made you feel, and A Gentle Reminder made me feel like I am enough.

This is my first Bianca Sparacino book review but I already see Bianca as a prolific writer, and I will be reading more of Bianca's thought-provoking literatures. The Strength In Our Scars is a next read for me from Bianca Sparacino.

Conclusion

This is a beautiful book, in my opinion, for anyone who, like me, is going through a difficult time and wants to rediscover their own love. This will always be one of my go-to self-help book recommendations.

I give it a 5 out of 5 stars
